We are planning on attending the following
conferences for the year of 2007-2008:

JCWA is always fun, intriguing, and educational. However, sometimes the work of a delegate is dangerous.
That's why an experienced official has been chosen to oversee the security measures at Model UN conferences.
Here's some important points that, in all seriousness, will keep you safe, and make everyone's life easier
while at the conference:
-
First and foremost, just use your common sense; if something doesn't seem right, it probably isn't.
If you ever have any questions, find the nearest board member or faculty advisor. They are here to help you.
-
Advisors appreciate a pleasant "good morning" every day that we are at the conference, so get down
from your rooms on time and say hello while ALSO making sure she checks off your name on the attendance roster.
-
Don't store your money all in one place. If you lose it, get robbed, or spend it all at once, no one wants a
friend who mooches for three days.
-
The conference has a curfew for a reason. It is absolutely imperative that you do not leave your hotel past curfew
(we will find out). Leaving the hotel for any reason can get you into trouble with both our advisors and the conference
staff, and it can be dangerous.
-
When you leave conference for lunch/dinner/sightseeing, take your delegate badge OFF. There's no reason to broadcast
your name and the fact that you are in high school.
-
Faculty advisors will have cell phones just in case of any emergencies.
-
IMPORTANT: There will be a designated meeting spot where we will meet after committee and during emergencies which
will be pointed out to you immediately upon arrival to the conference. You must check in at every one of these meetings. NO EXCEPTIONS.
-
Only travel in a group of four or more.
-
If the doorknob is hot, don't open the door.
- Clothes: street clothes and Western Business Attire
- Boys: shoes, belts, dark socks, ties, jackets, shirts, etc.
- Girls: shoes, stockings, skirts or pants, jackets, shirts, etc.
- comfortable shoes
- try to dress comfortably and plan for the weather - as of very early weather reports, expect temperatures in the 50s, but cold at night
- Bring a coat! The weather can change quickly, and VA isn't that far south.

- 3 copies of each position paper
- Money ($70-$100)
